Top Cars of the 80s
Remember the 80s? One thing I remember for sure about the 80s was that new cars made in the 80s were horrible. If your still pimping a 88 Caprice, then I am terribly sorry for your situation. I recently had a conversation with someone who seemed to think that only immature men drive Camaros. I immediately informed her that she must have only been exposed to 80s Camaros, as the late 60’s Camaros are some of the finest vehicles ever produced.
So that conversation got me thinking, despite the lameness of the 80s car market, where there any cars made that were cool?
Cars You Couldn’t Afford
- Delorean - The Back to the Future Time Machine was an 80’s Classic. Stainless Steel paneling makes for a sweet looking ride.
- Lamborghini Countach - Doesn’t really need an explanation does it.
- Ferrari Testarossa - Another Icon of the 80s that really needs no introduction
Regular People Cars - Here are some cool rides from the 80s you or someone you know may have actually owned.
- Camaro - I know I said some things about the 80s Camaro early in the story, but I still think the Camaro was a Classic no matter what year it was made.
- Corvette - The Corvette may have been a little pricey, but its another one of those cars that no matter what the decade, its a classic.
- Firebird - Nothing says cool like an eagle splashed across your hood.
- Nissan 300ZX - Even the foreign car market of the 80s was hopping.
- Mustang - Though the 80s Mustangs didn’t look cool, they did sport a nice 5.0.
There is one vehicle left to complete this list. If I were doing a list of all vehicles, I could have included the many nice trucks made in the 80s, however this is a list of cars. If only there was a vehicle that transcended either category and could be included in both…Oh wait there is, and here it is.
- The El Camino - Need a smooth car-like ride, but also the convenience of a truck bed? Well in the 80s, instead of improving the suspension and ride of a truck, the answer of course was to combine the two, thus producing one super sweet vehicle.
